Go Beyond Corporate - About Us

We are made up of a group of individuals, led by Steve Adams, for whom Excellence and a Drive to succeed are ways of life.

Steve Adams

Professionally Steve has held roles at the top of Companies such as National Westminster Bank, Barclays and Barclaycard running Operational teams in excess of 3000 people on a global footprint. He has moulded existing teams as well as creating new ones as a result of start up operations in either geographic locations of new business streams such as e Commerce.

From this wealth of corporate experience he developed his belief in the power of teams and how the physical and the mental challenges associated with endurance athletics can usefully point to better team work in the corporate world. He developed his "Discovery Process" where participnats in physical team based activity get to look at how well they contibuted to the team both as a member and a leader - every member of an efficient team leads at some point.

All this is then used to develop how we can be better team players and leaders in the work place - and this process take place at the office - this is what makes the programme unique

His sport CV extends to several National Championships in Sailing as well as representing Great Britain in 14 World and European Championships achieving top 3 results in 4 of them. More recently he has been competing in endurance athletics including nearly 30 marathons, triathlons including Iron Man and almost all used for raising money for charity, most recently his own.

In 2005 he set up the Charity Teach Africa which has set out to provide funding for secondary education for the brightest children from Nairobi’s slums

No one understands the value of teamwork better and no one is better qualified to help develop high performing teams in your company.

Guy TraversGo Beyond Corporate - About Us

Guy joined Go Beyond Ultra in June 2010 to support and develop the events as well as develop the Corporate Challenge events.

A graduate of Warwick University Guy has spent much of his corporate career in the pharmaceutical industry dealing with the sales of complex and high value equipment. He is now combining his corporate experience with a passion for running in his new role.

As well as several marathons Guy has recently completed his first Ultra and will be running alongside our clients in Trans Britain this year. With a background in swimming and cycling he is very well placed to develop our Mud and Mayhem off road multi sport events.

His experience provides real empathy of what makes a good event and this flows through to his attention to detail and maintaining the quality that competitors now expect from a Go Beyond Event. This ensures that the team experiences are real and not limited by organisational factors.

Andy Mouncey

Go Beyond Corporate - About Us

Doing Big & Scary www.doingbigandscary.com is a philosophy and a framework for consistent high performance created by our Coach and High Performance Mentor, Andy Mouncey.

DBAS was developed as a result of what he learned after running, swimming and cycling some 300 solo miles between London and Paris for which swimming the English Channel was just the wet bit in the middle..!

Andy's clients work with him so they are better able to take on Big Goals and Massive Targets: Do it fast and do it smart - keep smiling and keep coming back for more. Enjoy the Journey and get the results they want.

At Go Beyond, we use Andy's framework in one of the three componants of our programme:-

  •   Preparing for the challenge ahead with purpose and clarity
This is then followed up with:-

  • Do the challenge: Get the results and enjoy it!
  • Apply the lessons from the experience back into the business

It is different, unique, fun and it works.

It's tried, tested and refined by real people in the real world doing real stuff every day. So it's alive: you can feel it - and you can be a part of it.

It's both a philosophy for life and a process to stretch: Because at Go Beyond we believe that we all have to stretch if we really want to grow…
